Dr. Daniel S. McCally M.D., F.A.C.S.
For Dr. Daniel S. McCally, the foundation of his career began with his attending Kindergarten through 12th grade in the
West Babylon School District. Dan attended Santapogue Elementary School, then the WB Junior High School, and graduated from the WB Senior High in
1964 as the class president.
Dr. McCally attended Adelphi University and graduated in 1968 with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. He went on to do his medical graduate work at New Jersey College of Medicine and graduated in 1972 with his field of study in Surgery.
His internship in Straight Surgery was completed at Nassau County Medical Center. His residencies included surgery, completed in June, 1973, and urology, June 1973 to June 1976, at NCMC.
Dr. Dan is the Director of Urology at Nassau University Medical Center, from 1978 to present, and is also the Director of the Urology Residency Training Program. He has been the Assistant Chief of Urology at South Nassau Communities Hospital since 1992. He has been a clinical instructor in urology for the Department of Urology, School of Medicine, at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He has also served as president and vice president of the medical staff at Nassau University Medical Center.
Dr. McCally has received many honors including: President of Nassau Surgical Society-Gold Medallion, Fellow-Nassau Academy of Medicine, and Valentine
Urology Prize Essay “Selective Tumor Vessel Embolization Verses Renal Artery Embolization: A Comparison in 18 Patients with Renal Malignancies”. He finished in the top three of the American Urological Society Scientific Exhibit.
Dr. Dan feels it is important to give back and offers his time by volunteering at annual prostate cancer screenings, giving lectures to prostate cancer support
groups, and being on the Early Detection Prostate Cancer in African-American Community committee. He also serves on the Nassau University Medical Center
volunteer staff for education of residents and interns as well as surgery of the indigent and infirmed.
Dr. McCally enjoys his family, pups – Bonnie & Clyde, and cooking as well as gardening. He also spends lots of quality time with Joan.
