Dr. Anthony Capone’s life began in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn in 1927 where he attended Lafayette High School and graduated at the age of 16 due to his skipping a grade while in elementary school. After one year of college he proudly served in the US Army as a medic stationed in the Philippines at the end of WWII.

After his military service Dr. Capone continued his education, earning undergraduate and Master’s Degrees, then his Doctorate in Ed.D, all at Columbia University.

He entered his teaching and administrative career in the West Babylon School District, initially as a Science teacher in the Junior High School, thence as Jr. High Assistant Principal under Lawrence Tooker as Principal, eventually as West Babylon Jr. HS Principal and finally as Assistant Superintendent. He has fond memories of his association with Mathew Wilensky and Martin Kennedy in that position. After his retirement in 1982 Dr. Capone remained friendly with and in constant contact with both Mr. Kennedy and Mr. Wilensky until their passings. As the three were such close friends they had been affectionately referred to as the Three Amigos.

Dr. Capone lives in Oceanside, NY in the same home he bought in 1963. There, he and his wife, sadly now deceased, raised their four children, Jerry, Susan, Thomas and Linda.
